Carnation Hall is situated in its own grounds in Chavey Down Road, Winkfield. It is a well-maintained, fully soundproofed facility including a PA sound system with hearing loops for the hard of hearing in the Main Hall and Lounge and a fully sprung wooden dance/sports floor. Staging is available.

There are three rooms at Carnation Hall, which may be hired separately or in any combination.

There is a well equipped kitchen which is available to all users on a shared basis. If there are events in more than one room at the same time, the kitchen will be shared unless one party has pre-booked exclusive use of the kitchen (see opposite).

  • Gas Oven with 4 burner hob
  • Microwave
  • Hot cupboard (7 cu ft capacity)
  • Hot Water Boiler for tea & coffee making
  • Electric Kettle
  • 100 cups, saucers and small plates

The air handling system is automatic. If you need to use it the on/off switch is in the kitchen near the microwave oven. Do not touch any other switches.

Private Parties, Functions, etc

We do want you to enjoy using Carnation Hall but would remind you:

  • It is expected that you will leave the building in the same condition that you found it. Charges have not been calculated to include additional cleaning after your function and another booking may be following quite quickly afterwards. If the Parish Council does have to pay for extra cleaning or for extra caretaking, there WILL be additional charges together with an administration charge.
  • Your setting up and clearing away time is to be included within the times stated on the Hiring Agreement.
  • The finishing time stated on the Hiring Agreement is the time at which you and ALL the members of your party should vacate the premises. This includes the car park and grounds. (We are governed by Council rules and planning conditions and we do want to preserve good relations with our neighbours.) Running late also causes problems for the caretakers and involves extra costs.
  • Smoke machines set off the fire alarm system and MUST NOT BE USED.
  • Helium balloons set off the movement detector alarm if left to float in the building, so please inform the caretaker if you are taking helium balloons into the building.
  • No advertising material may be placed on street furniture or outside the perimeter of the grounds.

A 10% discount applies if you book ten or more dates at the same time.


The above Act came into force on 24th November 2005.

In particular it is essential that any event INVOLVING ALCOHOL held at Carnation Hall conforms to this Act. Please ask the office for details.

Events Covered by Performing Rights Society License

The Parish Council has a Licence from the Performing Rights Society to cover all events/classes in the Hall where music is used.

Sorry! We do have rules

We want to keep the Hall looking attractive for the Community and to avoid inconvenience to the neighbours:

  1. All music must stop by:
    10.30pm Sunday – Thursday, and
    11.00pm Friday and Saturday
    The hall must be vacated by:
    11.00pm Sunday – Thursday, and
    11.30pm Friday and Saturday
  2. Hirers may not sell tickets for discotheques, parties or dances without prior consent having been received from the Parish Council.
  3. No teenage parties (age 13 and over) or sports parties.
  4. The Parish Council must be informed in advance if it is proposed to consume alcohol on the premises.
  5. Smoking is not permitted in the building.
  6. Party decorations, etc are welcome but please, no sticky tape, blue tac, drawing pins, etc. The Office or Hall Supervisor will advise you on how to decorate without damaging the building.
  7. No advertising materials may be put on street furniture or outside of the perimeter of the grounds. (This is to comply with Bracknell Forest Borough Council legislation).
  8. No dogs are allowed into the premises, only guide dogs. (Other animals only in meeting room in cages.)
